Thanks for visiting my website and welcome! I’m an artist living in the depths of Dorset surrounded by beautiful countryside that inspires me through the seasons with its moods and colours. I look for colour everywhere – where others may see only drabness I seek out the innate brightness of fields, trees and hedgerows. On cold days and in winter I love to paint vivid still life compositions in my studio, where I’m drawn to the endless possibilities of form and composition. The warm natural colours of fruit, for example, are juxtaposed with the shapes of the everyday items around them. I have long admired and been inspired by the Scottish colourists, and strive in my own way with my own palette to convey the joy in simple things as they did. I hope you enjoy my work.
